Richard Fidler has been practising as an astrologer since the early 1990’s. Over the years he has developed an eclectic methodology that draws on elements of both Western and Vedic astrology and has therefore often acted as a bridge between these closely related streams of astrology; teaching Western astrology in India, and Jyotish in the West.
Richard was awarded the title of Jyotish Martanda from the Calcutta based Krishnamurti Institute of Astrology in 2014, and served on their local teaching faculty as well as their conference organization team.
In 2015 Richard Fidler and Ana Carrapichano organized and hosted the Astrology Restored conference in Cape Town, with Robert Hand as the keynote speaker. Several ISAR global directors and board members were part of the faculty for that conference, which was highly praised by Robert Hand.
Between 2014 and 2018 he served as the chairperson of the Cape Town based Cape Astrology Association, which is the oldest astrological organization in South Africa, reviving it from dormancy into a vibrant astrological institution.
Richard’s work has been published in several major astrological journals, including the Mountain Astrologer Magazine, the Astrological Journal, and even political forecasts for such mainstream publications as Business Insider.
He currently resides in Oxfordshire, having relocated to the United Kingdom in 2019.
