HAKAN KIRKOGLU
Celebrating his 40th anniversary in studying astrology in 2023, R. Hakan Kırkoğlu has been a leading figure in shaping Turkish astrological community as a counselor, teacher, lecturer and writer. Holding two MA degrees in History (2016) and Economics (1991) in Boğaziçi University, he completed his BSc degree in Management Engineering in ITU. (1988) After a brief period of working in the banking industry, he became a role model in professional astrology in Turkey setting up his own counseling practice since 2000. He guided to establish an association from which his own School Wisdom of Sky (Göklerin Bilgeliği) was born. Hakan is a prize winner diploma holder of the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London. (1997). Published his first book in 1991 (Astroloji Zamanları), he introduced traditional astrological perspective in Turkey with his book Göklerin Bilgeliği (2005), he wrote Ruhun Yolculuğu a new study on the use of prenatal eclipse charts. (2010) His MA thesis was published as a book Sultan ve Müneccimi in 2017.
His interest in history and ancient philosophies urged him to set up a wide-ranging syllabus at his School, with a particular emphasis on the Helenistic astrological principles. He lectured in many international Conferences in UK, USA, Australia, India, Finland, Greece, Serbia. He was mundane astrology coordinator in UAC 2008 in Denver, USA. He is an astrological columnist in Milliyet newspaper since 2000. He has been a member of ISAR (International Society for Astrological Research) since 2003 and global director for Turkey and currently works as an Exam Chair.
